Gray-Eskridge family papers, 1916-1942.

These are papers of Colonel Gray, and his wife Ida Eskridge Gray of Louisville, Kentucky. Materials include a portion of an essay on life at "Squaw Camp" (Camp Shelby, Mississippi), written by Ida Gray during World War I; a manuscript belonging to Colonel Gray entitled, "Report of Investigation Regarding Burial of Remains of Private John Doe" (fictitious); information on the First Division Military Circus performed by troops at Camp Taylor in Louisville in 1920; documents detailing Gray's official activities during the Louisville flood of 1937; and miscellaneous correspondence and memorabilia related to Colonel Gray's military service.
